Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to establish an interim service contract for a duration of six (6) months to carry out repairs of refrigeration equipment within the East London area and surrounding regions. The contract aims to ensure effective maintenance and repair services for refrigeration systems to support public sector infrastructure needs.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Provision of maintenance, servicing, and repairs of refrigeration equipment across various sites in the East London area and surrounding regions.
• Carrying out scheduled preventative maintenance, servicing, and emergency repairs as required.
• Ensuring all refrigeration systems are operational, compliant with safety standards, and properly maintained throughout the contract period.
• Providing qualified technical personnel to execute the repairs and maintenance tasks.
• Managing all associated logistics, tools, and materials necessary for the repairs.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Having CIDB contractor grading designation of 1 ME or higher, or capable of registration within twenty-one (21) working days.
• Submission of valid trade test certificates for at least one (1) Air-conditioning Technician or Refrigeration Technician.
• Registration as an electrical contractor with the Department of Labour, capable of issuing Certificates of Compliance (COCs).
• Provision of qualified key staff with relevant experience and qualifications.
• Adherence to the Facilities Management Conditions of Contract and relevant legislation.
• Implementation of safety, security, and confidentiality protocols.
• Use of approved and compliant materials, with a focus on quality and safety standards.

Skills Requirements

The skills and personnel requirements include:

• Qualified refrigeration and air-conditioning technicians with trade test certificates.
• Electrical contractors registered with the Department of Labour.
• Technical personnel with experience in refrigeration systems, troubleshooting, and repairs.
• Project management and coordination skills to ensure timely completion of repairs.
• Compliance with health and safety regulations and ability to work in operational environments.
• Effective communication skills for technical reporting and coordination with the employer’s representatives.
