Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to solicit quotations from qualified service providers for the supply and delivery of disaster relief materials, specifically blankets and foam mattresses, to support disaster management efforts within the King Cetshwayo District Municipality. The initiative aims to ensure timely procurement of essential relief items to assist affected populations during emergencies.

Scope

The scope encompasses the procurement, supply, and delivery of:

• Unbranded reversible blankets (250 units), measuring 200 x 230 cm, with specified material and packaging requirements.
• Foam mattresses (250 units), with specified dimensions, density, and material specifications.

The service providers must provide samples prior to mass production, and all items must meet the detailed specifications outlined in the tender documents. Delivery is to be made to the Disaster Management Centre in Empangeni, with adherence to the specified timelines.

  • Density: Prime foam 3-5 kg
  • Material: Spundbond fabric, randomly printed or mono-colored

Skills Requirements

Service providers must demonstrate:

• Registration with the Central Suppliers Database and the municipality’s supplier database.
• Experience in supplying disaster relief materials or similar emergency supplies.
• Ability to provide samples for quality assurance prior to mass production.
• Compliance with all specifications, packaging, and delivery timelines.
• Knowledge of procurement regulations and adherence to the Municipal Supply Chain Management practices.
• Capacity to complete the order within the specified delivery period.
