Scope

The scope encompasses the supply, delivery, installation, commissioning, and initial training for the liquid filling machine, alongside the bulk supply of specified soaps and disinfectants. The successful bidder will deliver all items to the designated hospital facilities, provide comprehensive operational and technical documentation, and offer a twelve-month warranty from the date of successful commissioning. The contract includes a mandatory preventative maintenance agreement upon warranty expiry. Technical Requirements

• Liquid Filling Machine: Semi-automatic design utilising a positive displacement rotary gear pump coupled to a programmable controller. Must handle liquids and semi-liquids within a 20ml to 8L range, featuring adjustable speed control, variable cycle timers, and ±0.5% batch accuracy. Construction requires a 316 stainless steel pump, stainless steel enclosure, and a non-return valve. Electrical specifications mandate 220V±10%, 50Hz single-phase AC operation, dual-fused live/neutral circuits, SABS-approved hospital-grade plugs, and minimum 3-metre colour-coded cables. Compliance with IEC 60601-1/60601-1-2 medical electrical standards and CE certification is mandatory. The unit must be portable, tabletop-mounted, and include a starter pack, flexible tubing, nozzle brackets, and complete operation/service manuals.
• Carbolic Red Soap: 200g bars meeting the latest SANS quality standards, with a signal red colour strictly adhering to CKS Specification 279.
• Hand Disinfectant: 100ml bottles containing a chlorhexidine gluconate alcohol solution (0.5% active ingredient and 70% alcohol base) designed for cross-infection prevention.

Skills & Service Requirements

• Provision of end-user training on safe equipment operation.
• Comprehensive technical training for in-house clinical engineering technicians covering calibration, maintenance, servicing, and repair, equivalent to factory-level training.
• Establishment of a local service presence in KwaZulu-Natal with permanently employed, manufacturer-certified technicians. Subcontracting requires formal appointment letters.
• Supply of dedicated test equipment, spare parts, special tooling, and calibration software at no additional cost.
• Maintenance of an after-hours backup facility and provision of loan sets if equipment is removed for repairs.
