Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to secure services for the maintenance of canals within the Knysna municipality, ensuring the functionality and integrity of the specified canal systems.

Scope

The scope of work includes maintenance activities for the following canals:

• Vigilance Canal
• Dam Se Bos South Canal
• Chungwa Canal
• Other specified canals within the town

The scope covers operational maintenance, including construction plant availability, and adherence to technical specifications for each canal.

Technical Requirements

• Provision of construction plant: The tenderer must specify which construction plant will be owned or hired for the project. Plant registration papers must accompany the bid, and hired plant must include recent Enatis registration or proof of purchase/invoices. Leased equipment requires a signed lease agreement and Enatis documents.
• Plant Description: For example, a 3-ton Tipper Truck or Flatbed, with quantities specified.
• Availability of plant: Copies of registration papers or guarantees from plant hire companies must be provided.
• Pricing Schedule: Rates for traffic accommodation (flagmen, road signs, cones/delineators) and specific canal maintenance sums must be submitted.
• Compliance with municipal, environmental, and safety standards as specified in the tender documents.

• Ability to provide and manage construction plant, including ownership, hire, and leasing arrangements.
• Experience in executing maintenance activities in municipal infrastructure projects.
