Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure a Major Service for the Theatre HVAC and Air Handling Unit at Eshowe Hospital, ensuring the hospital's HVAC systems are maintained to the required standards, operationally efficient, and compliant with relevant standards and regulations.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Major servicing of Theatre HVAC units (for theatres 1, 2, 3, and 4).
• Servicing of the CSSD Air Handling Unit.
• Servicing of all electrical and control systems associated with the plantrooms.
• Cleaning, inspection, replacement of filters, checking refrigerant charges, treating rust, and electrical control servicing.
• Servicing to be completed within two weeks from receiving the official order.
• Delivery of service reports, certificates of compliance, and service certificates.
• Provision for minor repairs and guarantee of workmanship for 12 months.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Compliance with SANS standards and the attached technical specifications.
• Use of new, unused, and latest type or pattern equipment and materials, with SANS marks where applicable.
• Servicing of air conditioning units and plantrooms, including coil washing, filter replacement, refrigerant checks, rust treatment, electrical servicing, and painting of ducting.
• Adherence to Occupational Health and Safety Act 85/1993 and related regulations.
• Completion of service schedules onsite during servicing, with handover to the Chief Artisan.
• Delivery of all services within two weeks of order, with a guarantee period of 12 months for workmanship and materials.

Skills Requirements

The tenderer must demonstrate:

• Experience in servicing hospital HVAC systems and air handling units.
• Qualified and skilled workmen with expertise in HVAC maintenance, electrical systems, and control systems.
• Proof of previous similar work and technical capability to execute the scope of work effectively.
• Ability to provide an execution plan detailing manpower, machinery, process control, and infrastructure to ensure successful completion.
• Compliance with CIDB grading of 2ME/2EP or above.
• Provision of technical documentation, including service schedules, certificates, and reports.
