Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure a major service to boreholes at clinics, specifically focusing on servicing, pump maintenance, and cleaning of water storage tanks at various clinics including Itshelejuba Hospital and Pongola Clinics.

Scope

The scope encompasses:

• Providing a comprehensive service for borehole pumps and water storage tanks at designated clinics.
• Inspection, cleaning, and maintenance of borehole pumps and water tanks.
• Preparation of detailed reports on findings and quotations for repairs or further actions.
• Technical assessment and verification of existing water systems at multiple clinics.
• Delivery of services within specified contract periods, including site inspections and reporting.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications include:

• Inspection and testing of borehole pumps and water storage tanks.
• Cleaning of pumps, strainers, and checking shaft functionality.
• Verification of electrical connections and control panels.
• Assessment of chemical storage tanks for leaks and water quality testing for human consumption.
• Provision of written reports detailing findings, repairs needed, and quotations.
• Use of proprietary or approved materials, with verification by hospital maintenance staff.
• Adherence to safety standards, including compliance with OHS Act and safety plans.

Skills Requirements

The tenderer must possess:

• Qualified electricians and artisans with experience in water pump systems and electrical installations.
• CIDB registration with a minimum of ME1 classification.
• Knowledge of South African Bureau of Standards (SABS) testing procedures.
• Ability to prepare detailed technical reports and quotations.
• Compliance with health and safety regulations, including the submission of safety plans.
• Experience in maintenance and servicing of borehole and water storage infrastructure at healthcare facilities.
