Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure a major service to the gas plant oxygen points at Untunjambili Hospital. The service aims to ensure the proper maintenance, functionality, and safety of the hospital's medical gas systems, specifically focusing on the oxygen points within the gas plant.

Scope

The scope of the tender includes providing a once-off major service to the hospital's gas plant oxygen points. This encompasses inspection, maintenance, and any necessary repairs or replacements to ensure the system operates efficiently and safely. The service covers all aspects related to the medical gas system, including checking pressure systems, safety valves, automatic solenoids, and other critical components as detailed in the specifications.

Technical Requirements

• Perform comprehensive inspection and servicing of the medical gas system, including oxygen points and vacuum points.
• Ensure compliance with SABS standards and hospital specifications.
• Supply and replace springs for oxygen points and lubricate all relevant points.
• Check and adjust pressure reducing valves, safety valves, and pressure gauges.
• Strip, clean, and replace worn-out needle valves and fittings.
• Verify the operation of change-over systems, warning panels, and pressure switches.
• Provide detailed reports and documentation of the service performed.

Skills Requirements

• Qualified technical personnel with expertise in medical gas systems and hospital infrastructure.
• Knowledge of SABS standards and compliance requirements for medical gas systems.
• Experience in servicing and maintaining hospital gas systems, including pressure regulation and safety devices.
• Ability to diagnose system faults and perform repairs or replacements as needed.
• Competence in documentation and reporting of maintenance activities.
