Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure a major service for the generator at Mseleni Hospital (500 KVA). The service includes comprehensive maintenance tasks such as oil change, filter replacements, water drainage, coolant refill, oil analysis, tank cleaning, battery load testing, and the application of identification stickers to filters. The overall goal is to ensure the generator operates efficiently and reliably.

Scope

The scope encompasses:

• Performing a major service on the hospital's 500 KVA generator, including draining and replacing oil, fuel filters, air filters, oil filters, and coolant.
• Cleaning diesel tanks and base tanks.
• Conducting oil analysis.
• Loading test on the battery.
• Applying identification stickers on filters.
• Providing all necessary parts, labor, and related services as specified in the detailed specifications.

The service is a once-off maintenance activity aimed at ensuring the generator's optimal performance.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Compliance with the detailed specifications provided, including the use of specified oil type (15W40) and generator make/model (Volvo TAD1641GE).
• Provision of all necessary components such as oil filters, fuel filters, water separators, air filters, and related consumables.
• Carrying out cleaning, draining, refilling, and testing procedures as outlined.
• Sending old oil for laboratory analysis.
• Cleaning diesel tanks and base tanks.
• Load testing the generator battery.
• Proper disposal of old oil and filters in accordance with environmental standards.
• Application of company identification stickers on filters post-service.
• Adherence to the specified standards and quality requirements as per the specification form.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• Proof of a qualified mechanic with a trade test certification.
• Trained technician with expertise in deep-sea controllers or equivalent technology.
• Experience in performing major generator maintenance, including oil analysis and tank cleaning.
• Ability to safely dispose of old oil and filters in compliance with environmental regulations.
• Capability to provide detailed reports and documentation of the service performed.
• Compliance with health and safety standards, including having valid public liability insurance (minimum R3,000,000).
• Provision of proof of company registration on the Central Suppliers Database (CSD) and valid CIDB registration (minimum 1EP/EB).
