Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure a major service for the generator at Mseleni Hospital, specifically a comprehensive maintenance and servicing of a 500kVA generator to ensure its optimal performance and reliability.

Scope

The scope includes performing a major service on the generator at Mseleni Hospital, which involves draining and replacing oil, changing fuel, air, and oil filters, draining water, filling coolant, conducting oil analysis, cleaning diesel tanks, load testing the battery, and applying identification stickers to filters. The service covers all related tasks necessary to maintain the generator's operational integrity.

Technical Requirements

• Perform preventative maintenance on the Volvo TAD1641GE diesel engine generator with 800V output.
• Drain old oil and top up with new oil, including oil change.
• Replace fuel filters, air filters, and oil filters.
• Drain water and fill with coolant.
• Conduct oil analysis to assess engine condition.
• Clean both diesel tanks and the base tank.
• Load test the generator's battery to ensure proper functioning.
• Clean the generator thoroughly.
• Dispose of old oil safely and provide proof of disposal.
• Apply stickers with the company name and date on all filters changed.
• Provide all necessary documentation and reports post-service.

Skills Requirements

• Qualified mechanics with trade test certification (minimum CIDB grade 1EP/EB).
• Technicians trained in deep-sea controller operation and maintenance.
• Proof of experience in generator maintenance and oil analysis.
• Competence in safe disposal of hazardous materials such as used oil.
• Ability to perform load testing and diagnostics on diesel generators.
• Knowledge of safety standards and compliance with health and safety regulations.
