Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure minor services for the maintenance and servicing of the Medical Oxygen and Vacuum System at Nkandla Hospital. The aim is to ensure the proper functioning, safety, and compliance of the oxygen and vacuum systems through scheduled minor servicing, preventative maintenance, and associated activities.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Performing minor service and preventative maintenance on the Medical Oxygen and Vacuum Systems at Nkandla Hospital.
• Servicing of 90 Medical Oxygen plant points and 85 Vacuum plant points.
• Work to be carried out on-site at Nkandla Hospital’s existing oxygen and vacuum plant rooms.
• Completion of service reports within two days of service.
• Adherence to relevant standards and safety regulations, including South African Bureau of Standards (SABS) codes and Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Guarantee of the work for a minimum of twelve (12) months from the date of first delivery.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements specify:

• Provision of qualified personnel to perform minor servicing of oxygen and vacuum systems.
• Use of SABS-approved, South African manufactured equipment and materials.
• Compliance with standards such as SANS0142, National Building Regulations, and Electrical Specifications.
• Preparation and submission of detailed service reports within 2 days post-service.
• Adherence to safety, quality, and environmental standards during service activities.
• Provision of proof of compliance, including certificates such as CIPC, CSD report, BBBEE, CIDB registration, and SAQCC medical gas handling registration.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must possess:

• Technical expertise in medical gas systems, including oxygen and vacuum plant maintenance.
• Relevant certifications such as CIDB Grade 1 ME or above, SAQCC medical gas handling registration, and proof of experience in similar jobs.
• Knowledge of South African standards and safety regulations related to medical gas systems.
• Ability to prepare detailed service reports and documentation.
• Capacity to work on occupied hospital premises with minimal disruption.
• Experience in preventative maintenance and minor servicing of medical gas systems.
