Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure various hardware and painting supplies, including padlocks, paint, buckles, and paint brushes, to meet the needs of the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality. The aim is to ensure the supply of quality items that meet specified standards and requirements.

Scope

The scope of the tender encompasses the supply and delivery of the following items:

• 50 mm brass padlocks with hardened steel shackles ("VIRO" or approved brand)
• 5-liter white Velvaglo paint
• 19 mm stainless steel buckles (100 per box)
• 75 mm "Senior Harris" or equivalent paint brushes (9 per box)

All items must be supplied in accordance with the specifications and minimum requirements outlined in the tender documentation.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements specify that:

• Brand names of quoted items must be clearly stated.
• Samples may be requested to verify compliance with minimum standards.
• Items must meet the minimum specifications to be considered responsive.
• For paint brushes, the brand name must be specified, and the brushes should be of the "Senior Harris" type or approved equivalent.
• All tender responses must be submitted electronically; no fax submissions are accepted.

Skills and Qualification Requirements

Applicants must:

• Be registered on the Nelson Mandela Bay Supplier Database; registration is a prerequisite for tender consideration.
• Comply with the general conditions, definitions, and directives outlined in the Preferential Procurement Regulation of 2022, including the 80/20 system.
• Provide valid tender prices, which should remain effective for at least thirty (30) days from the closing date.
• Ensure all documentation, including samples or brochures if requested, is submitted correctly and on time via the electronic system.
