Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure a Walkthrough Metal Detector and an X-Ray Machine on a rental basis to enhance security screening capabilities. The procurement aims to ensure the availability of certified, reliable, and effective security equipment that meets specified technical standards and legal requirements.

Scope

The scope of the tender includes:

• Provision of one X-Ray Machine registered with the Department of Health, including delivery, installation, and commissioning at the specified site in Onderstepoort, Pretoria.
• Provision of a walk-through metal detector with specified features and security standards.
• Provision of necessary accessories such as roller beds, UPS, and related equipment.
• Provision of maintenance, warranty, and basic operator training for the equipment over a 36-month period.
• Compliance with all relevant legal, safety, and health regulations, including licensing and certification requirements.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• Proven experience in supplying and maintaining security screening equipment, specifically X-Ray machines and walk-through metal detectors.
• Ability to provide certified equipment compliant with South African health and safety standards, including SAHPRA Dealer’s License, Radiation Control License, and Hazardous Substances compliance certificates.
• Capability to deliver, install, and commission the equipment at the specified site within the stipulated timeframe.
• Provision of comprehensive operator training and ongoing maintenance support.
• Experience in handling equipment that meets international security standards and specifications.
• Ability to provide all necessary documentation, including reference letters, BBBEE certificates, and relevant licenses.
