Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure a dedicated staff transport service for Transnet Soc Ltd operating as Transnet Port Terminals (“TPT”) at the Cape Town Multipurpose Terminal for a period of sixty-four (64) days.

Scope

The scope involves providing transportation services to staff at the Cape Town Multipurpose Terminal, including the provision of vehicles, drivers, and related logistics as detailed in Annexure A - Scope of Work. The service must support specific routes and schedules as specified in the tender documentation, including ad hoc transport services such as funerals and memorials.

Technical Requirements

• Provision of a minimum pool of ten (10) vehicles not older than four (4) years, either owned or leased, with proof of valid insurance (General Liability/Public Liability or Passenger Liability Insurance) with a minimum claimable amount of R1 million per incident.
• Capability to render services within a one-week contract readiness period.
• Provision of drivers with valid Driver’s Licenses (Code B/08) and Professional Driver Permits (PDP), with copies submitted for evaluation.
• Vehicles must meet seating capacity requirements and be in good operational condition.
• Compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and security clearance requirements.
• Adherence to specified routes, schedules, and service levels as detailed in the scope of work.

Skills and Competency Requirements

• Experience in providing staff transportation services, supported by at least three (3) trade reference letters from previous clients confirming similar services over the past five (5) years.
• Demonstrated local footprint with an operational office within 50 km of Cape Town Terminals, supported by lease agreements or utility bills.
• Provision of at least ten (10) drivers with valid licenses and PDPs, demonstrating capacity to operate the required fleet.
• Capability to supply a fleet of vehicles that are not older than four years, with proof of insurance and lease/purchase agreements if applicable.
• Compliance with legal, tax, and B-BBEE requirements, including submission of relevant certificates and affidavits.
