Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to secure a service provider capable of providing round log transportation from Hanglip to Timbadola Sawmill, ensuring immediate availability of equipment and compliance with forestry industry standards. The service aims to facilitate efficient timber logistics, meet delivery requirements, and uphold safety and operational standards within the forestry sector.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Provision of round log transport services from Hanglip to Timbadola Sawmill.
• Transport distances ranging from 0 to 90 kilometers.
• Handling of timber loading, offloading, depot handling, sorting, and transshipping as applicable.
• Use of specified equipment including two or three-axle logger trailers and rigid trucks (6x4, 6x6, 8x4) with logger bodies and trailers, validated through ENatis documents or proof of ownership.
• Immediate deployment of equipment upon award notification, with no waiting period.
• Adherence to performance measures such as uptime and delivery targets.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications include:

• Ownership or lease of suitable equipment: two or three-axle logger trailers, rigid trucks with logger bodies, and associated trailers, validated via ENatis or equivalent proof.
• Compliance with equipment configuration standards, including proof of ownership or lease agreements.
• Availability of equipment immediately after contract award.
• Adherence to safety, operational, and industry standards suitable for forestry logistics.
• Provision of detailed rate per kilometer, including handling charges, excluding VAT.
• Capability to meet performance measures such as uptime (minimum 80%) and delivery volumes.

Skills Requirements

The skills and capabilities required from the service provider include:

• Proven experience in timber or forestry logistics transportation.
• Ability to operate and maintain specialized forestry transport equipment.
• Capacity to meet strict uptime and delivery performance targets.
• Compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards relevant to forestry operations.
• Effective communication and reporting skills, including daily truck and equipment deployment reporting.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements, including ENatis registration and proof of equipment ownership.
