Objectives

The primary objectives of this tender are to appoint a qualified facilitator or service provider to coordinate and deliver a 3-day creative workshop at the Anene Booysen Training Centre in Bredasdorp. The workshop aims to engage the community through participatory mural design and play-based learning, focusing on youth development, environmental education, and public engagement. The facilitator will guide community members in creating a multi-game mural using recycled materials, fostering youth participation in crafting, decorating, and reusing materials, and promoting environmental awareness.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Engaging up to 35 community participants aged 10 and above.
• Facilitating community engagement through participatory mural design and play-based activities.
• Guiding participants in painting a multi-game mural incorporating recycled materials provided on-site.
• Encouraging youth involvement in crafting, decorating, and reusing materials.
• Printing and issuing certificates of participation to all attendees (35 units).
• Submitting a brief final report including participant reflections.

The facilitator does not supply recycled materials, tools, or art supplies but is responsible for managing the workshop process and documentation.

Technical Requirements

• Submission of a formal quotation with a proposed timeline for preparation and execution.
• Provision of a company profile and relevant portfolio of similar previous work.
• Sample certificate of participation.
• Design and facilitate a 3-day workshop at the specified location.
• Print and distribute certificates to participants.
• Provide a final report with participant feedback.
• Adherence to the evaluation criteria, including experience in youth and community art projects, methodology, and cultural insight.

Skills Requirements

• Proven experience in participatory facilitation, especially with youth and community art spaces (minimum 2-3 similar projects for 20 points, 4+ projects for 30 points).
• General experience and targeted expertise in urban art and youth culture (10 and 15 points respectively).
• Ability to develop clear, innovative, and inclusive methodologies aligned with the project’s context (15 and 25 points).
• Demonstrated local cultural insight and awareness of community dynamics (10 and 5 points).
• Strong communication, organizational, and reporting skills.
• Capacity to manage community engagement, facilitate creative activities, and produce documentation and final reports.
