Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a qualified service provider responsible for the maintenance and servicing of air conditioners across various libraries within Rustenburg. The aim is to ensure the proper functioning, efficiency, and longevity of air conditioning units in multiple library facilities.

Scope

The scope includes the service, maintenance, and re-gassing of a variety of air conditioning units of different brands and capacities installed in multiple library locations, such as Rustenburg Public Library, Boitekong Community Library, Tlhabane Community Library, and others. Specific units range from 9000 BTU mid-wall units to 60000 BTU cassette units, covering major service strips, re-gassing, and commissioning of inverter-type air conditioners.

The scope also encompasses site inspections, adherence to technical specifications, and compliance with health and safety regulations as detailed in the terms of reference.

Technical Requirements

• Major service, strip, and re-gas of specified air conditioning units as per manufacturer brands (e.g., CHIGO, JET-AIR, Gree, LG, DUNHAM BUSH, etc.).
• Commissioning of inverter-type air conditioners where specified.
• Adherence to the detailed maintenance schedules and specifications for each unit, including proper handling and re-gassing procedures.
• Compliance with health and safety standards, including submission of approved health and safety plans prior to commencement.
• Provision of qualified personnel with relevant experience and CVs for supervisory and safety roles.
• Use of approved and certified spare parts and materials for repairs and re-gassing.
• Completion of all work within the specified timeframes, with provisions for extensions due to unforeseen circumstances such as abnormal rainfall.

Skills and Qualifications Requirements

• Proven experience in servicing and maintaining commercial air conditioning units, particularly brands specified in the scope.
• CIDB grading of at least 1ME or higher, or proof of capability to undertake the work.
• Qualified technicians with relevant trade certificates and CVs demonstrating expertise in HVAC systems.
• Health and Safety Officers with appropriate training and experience, supported by CVs.
• Ability to provide references of similar projects successfully completed within the last five years.
• Knowledge of and compliance with Occupational Health and Safety regulations, including submission of approved safety plans.
• Capacity to supply all necessary tools, equipment, and materials required for the maintenance tasks.
• Financial stability evidenced by relevant financial statements and bank references.
