Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to solicit quotations from qualified service providers for the repairs and maintenance of the Mhlangeni/Mvundlweni Creche in Ward 10. The aim is to ensure the creche is renovated and maintained to meet safety, safety legislation, and operational standards, thereby providing a safe and functional environment for users.

Scope

The scope of work includes all necessary resources to carry out repairs and maintenance as detailed in the scope of work section. Key activities encompass:

• Roof covering repairs, ceiling replacement, and painting
• Cleaning and painting walls (internal and external)
• Replacement of doors and windows, including burglar guards and window panes
• Concrete work for apron slabs around the building
• Installation of PVC gutters, fascia, and barge boards
• Electrical fault investigation and connection repairs
• Repair of carpentry items such as kitchen cupboard doors
• Mounting of a chalkboard, supply of a Jojo tank, refurbishment of existing structures, installation of a creche name board, and toilet seat replacements

All work must comply strictly with SABS standards and safety legislation.

Technical Requirements

• All materials used must meet SABS standards
• Roof repairs should patch corrugated iron leaks, and ceilings should be replaced and painted to match existing colors
• Walls must be cleaned, cracks filled, primed, and painted internally and externally
• Doors and windows must be supplied and installed with appropriate locks and burglar guards
• Concrete work must be cast with 20 Mpa concrete in specified areas
• Gutter installation must include all fittings, fascia, and barge boards
• Electrical works should investigate faults and reconnect loose connections
• Carpentry repairs include fixing detached doors on kitchen cupboards
• Additional miscellaneous works include mounting a chalkboard, supplying a 2700L Jojo tank, refurbishing existing structures, and installing signage and toilet seats

Skills Requirements

Service providers must demonstrate:

• Proven experience in building repairs, roofing, electrical, carpentry, and painting works
• Knowledge of safety legislation and standards (SABS compliance)
• Capability to supply and install materials and equipment as specified
• Ability to accurately measure, estimate, and execute work within the specified scope and quantities
• Competence in project management to ensure timely completion
• Compliance with health and safety regulations during all phases of work
