Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply, deliver, and offload ergonomic office chairs that meet specified technical standards and specifications. The aim is to enhance ergonomic comfort and support within office environments, ensuring that the chairs provided are compliant with relevant safety and quality standards.

Scope

The scope of the tender includes:

• Supply of ergonomic office chairs as per attached specifications.
• Delivery of the chairs to the specified delivery address (Cedara Main Building, 2nd Floor, Room E321).
• Offloading and placement of the chairs at the designated site.
• Provision of chairs in the required quantity (7 units).

The scope also encompasses compliance with technical and quality standards, including SABS specifications, and adherence to ergonomic design principles.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements for the office chairs include:

• High-density padding that is easy to clean.
• Adjustable, ergonomic armrests.
• Lever to adjust seat height.
• Freely moving casters for mobility.
• Adjustable headrest.
• Large backrest supporting the entire back with recline capability.
• Backrest tilt adjustment with lockable angles.
• Adjustable lumbar support.
• Base with five or more pedestals for stability.
• Swivel capability (360 degrees rotation).
• Ability to recline.
• Thick cushioning for ergonomic posture and all-day comfort.

Chairs must comply with the specifications outlined in the attached document and meet SABS standards, with inspection confirmed if applicable.

Skills Requirements

The skills requirements focus on ensuring that suppliers have the capacity to:

• Supply ergonomic office furniture that adheres to ergonomic, anthropometric, and biomechanical principles.
• Provide delivery, offloading, and installation services at the specified location within the stipulated delivery period.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications, including SABS inspection where applicable.
• Demonstrate understanding of ergonomic design and physical environment considerations relevant to office furniture.

Additionally, suppliers should have the technical capability to meet the detailed specifications and be able to provide support documentation such as BBBEE certificates, CSD reports, or relevant proof of compliance.
