Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply, deliver, and assemble office chairs that meet specified technical and quality standards, ensuring ergonomic comfort and durability for office use.

Scope

The scope includes the procurement of office chairs as detailed in the attached specifications, encompassing:

• Supply of various office chair models (e.g., high back ergonomic chairs, mesh chairs)
• Delivery to specified addresses within the Umgeni Local Municipality
• Assembly of chairs at the designated delivery sites

The contract covers the complete process from procurement to installation, with specific quantities and technical requirements outlined in the attached annexures.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications for the chairs include:

• High back ergonomic design with lockable recline and tension adjustment
• Gas height adjustment and seat slide mechanisms
• Base: 5-star aluminum with 150kg capacity and 5-year warranty
• Materials: Genuine hide leather seats and backrests, padded armrests
• Additional features for specific models:
• Adjustable mesh headrest
• 4D height-adjustable arms with soft touch padding
• Adjustable lumbar support
• Lock tilt with 5 positions

All chairs must comply with SABS specifications and be inspected accordingly. Delivery must occur within the specified period after order placement.

Skills and Competency Requirements

Suppliers must demonstrate:

• Proven experience in supplying and assembling office furniture, particularly ergonomic office chairs
• Technical capability to meet detailed specifications and quality standards
• Capacity to deliver within the stipulated timeframes
• Qualified personnel for assembly and installation at the delivery sites
• Compliance with health and safety standards during delivery and assembly

Additionally, bidders should provide proof of relevant certifications, such as SABS inspection reports, and demonstrate adherence to technical standards specified in the tender documentation.
