Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply, deliver, and offload office equipment as specified in the attached technical specifications. The procurement aims to ensure the provision of ergonomic office chairs and related equipment that meet ergonomic standards, quality, and safety certifications, supporting the department's operational needs.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Supply of office equipment, specifically ergonomic chairs with specified features and specifications.
• Delivery of the equipment to the designated address: D216 First Floor, Main Building, Cedara.
• Offloading and installation as required.
• Compliance with technical standards and certifications, including SABS specifications and ergonomic standards.

The procurement covers the entire process from order placement to delivery and offloading, with specific emphasis on quality and compliance with standards.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications for the ergonomic chair include:

• Seat: Ergonomically moulded upholstery with foam thickness of 4.0cm, breathable polyurethane foam, changeable, and CFC/CHC free.
• Backrest: High, breathable mesh material made of 100% Polyester, with optional lumbar support cushion.
• Armrests: Height and width adjustable T-arms (10cm height, 2.5cm width adjustment).
• Mechanism: Synchronous movement of seat and backrest, infinite backrest tension adjustment, lockable positions, seat depth adjustment (5cm), tilt adjustment (-1 to -4 degrees).
• Base: Type F aluminium die cast, 70cm, black or optionally polished.
• Castors: Load-dependent twin wheel castors (6.5cm), suitable for soft or hard floors.
• Additional features include safety gas lift, adjustable seat height (40-52cm), and compliance with ergonomic standards.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• Proven experience in supplying ergonomic office furniture that meets ISO 9001:2000 quality standards and ISO 14001 environmental standards.
• Technical expertise in ergonomic design and compliance with SABS standards.
• Capability to deliver and offload equipment within the specified delivery period (proposed delivery date: 28 August 2026).
• Ability to provide certification of compliance, warranty (5-7 years), and quality assurance documentation.
• Competence in handling logistics, including delivery to remote or specific municipal districts.
• Knowledge of procurement procedures, including tax compliance, BBBEE certification, and adherence to departmental policies.
