Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a qualified service provider to supply security services at the Bhisho Child and Youth Care Centre located in Buffalo City Metro, Eastern Cape. The engagement is intended to ensure the safety and security of the facility and its occupants for a period of two (02) months.

Scope

The scope of work includes providing comprehensive security services at the Bhisho Child and Youth Care Centre. The services are to be rendered over a period of two months, starting from the award date. The detailed specifications and requirements are outlined in the RFQ documents, which include the necessary standards and procedures to be followed by the service provider.

Technical Requirements

• Provision of security personnel trained and equipped to perform security duties at the specified location.
• Compliance with all safety and security protocols as detailed in the RFQ specifications and ECBD forms.
• Availability of the RFQ documents from 31 July 2026, between 08:00 and 16:30, at the Department of Social Development office or via the departmental website.
• Submission of completed RFQ documents in a sealed envelope, clearly marked with the RFQ number and nature of service.
• Adherence to the submission deadline; late, telegraphic, or faxed quotations will not be accepted.
• The department reserves the right to accept or reject any quotation, and the lowest or only quotation is not guaranteed acceptance.

Skills Requirements

• Qualified security personnel with relevant training and experience.
• Ability to adhere to security protocols and emergency procedures.
• Competence in reporting and communication related to security incidents.
• Understanding of the specific needs of a Child and Youth Care Centre environment.
• Capacity to operate within the guidelines of the PPPFA (Preferential Procurement Policy Framework Act) during the procurement process.
