Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to remove the existing cupboard, supply and install a new cupboard at Sandanezwe Clinic to improve storage facilities and ensure proper functionality within the clinic environment.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Removal of the existing rotten wooden cabinets and associated fixtures.
• Supply of new cupboards and related materials as per technical specifications.
• Installation of the new cupboards on-site, including alterations, adjustments, and finishing.
• Carrying out all electrical and carpentry work necessary for the proper installation.
• Ensuring minimal disruption to clinic operations during the execution of the work.
• Providing guarantees and warranties as specified for the completed work.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Adherence to South African Bureau of Standards (SABS) and SANS 825 standards.
• Use of South African softwood (SANS Specification 563) for structural timber, stress graded V4.
• Supply of timber that is pre-treated against wood destroying agents, with certification.
• Installation of cupboards with proper joinery, including mitres, rebates, and secure fixing.
• Use of approved hardware and ironmongery, including hinges, handles, locks, and security fittings, compliant with specified standards.
• Compliance with health and safety regulations, including site safety plans and risk assessments.
• Proper disposal of debris and materials from the site, leaving the premises clean and safe.
• Provision of warranties for workmanship and materials, with a minimum guarantee period of three months for structural work.

Skills Requirements

The tenderer must demonstrate:

• Proven experience in carpentry, joinery, and installation of cabinetry in healthcare or similar environments.
• Qualified carpenters and artisans with relevant trade certificates and certifications.
• Capability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
• Ability to carry out electrical and structural alterations as required.
• Knowledge of health and safety standards and procedures applicable to construction and installation in operational clinics.
• Capacity to complete the project within the stipulated four-week period, maintaining quality standards.
• Demonstrated compliance with procurement policies, including preference for Black Women-Owned companies (full points allocated).
