Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure repair services for boom gates at St Andrews Hospital, ensuring they are functional, compliant with standards, and meet the specified technical requirements.

Scope

The scope includes the repair of boom gates, specifically replacing the Centurion 6-meter boom and associated components such as loop detectors, at the designated site next to Casualty. The work involves sourcing approved equipment, adhering to specifications, and completing the repair within the specified contract period.

Technical Requirements

• All equipment and materials used must be specified or approved by the Department of Health and be SABS approved.
• The repair involves replacing the existing boom with a Centurion 6-meter boom (model Centurion 43055 loop detector).
• Ownership certificate issued by CIPC, BBBEE certificate, and Sworn Affidavit are required.
• Proof of CIDB registration (EB), compliance with the current minimum wage, and a fully priced bill of quantities are mandatory.
• Samples, if required, must be submitted upon request, and the repair must comply with attached specifications and quality standards.
• The repair must be completed within the contract period, which is once-off.

Skills Requirements

• Qualified technicians with experience in installing and repairing boom gates, particularly Centurion systems.
• Ability to interpret technical specifications and standards, including SABS standards.
• Competence in sourcing approved equipment and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Capability to provide documentation such as CIDB certificates, BBBEE certificates, and Sworn Affidavits.
• Effective communication skills for liaising with hospital staff and technical representatives.
