Objectives

The primary objectives of this tender are to repair and restore electrical infrastructure at the station, specifically:

• Repair the underground cable from the main distribution box (D/box) to the station building.
• Repair the underground cable from the generator to the station.
• Repair the burned or damaged circuit breakers in the main distribution box.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Testing, fault diagnosis, and repair of the underground cables connecting the main D/box to the station building and generator.
• Installation of new cable joints and supply of new cables where necessary.
• Replacement of burned or faulty circuit breakers in the main D/box.
• Ensuring all repairs meet relevant standards and safety regulations.
• Providing documentation, including test reports and certification of completed work.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements specify that:

• All electrical work must be performed by qualified and registered electricians.
• Testing must confirm the integrity and safety of repaired cables and equipment.
• Replacement components, such as circuit breakers, must comply with specified ratings and standards.
• Work must adhere to relevant safety, health, and environmental standards, including SABS and Public Works standards.
• Proper documentation of all work, including test results and certification, must be provided.

Skills and Skills Requirements

The tenderer must demonstrate:

• Experience in underground cable testing, fault diagnosis, and repair.
• Proven track record of similar electrical repair projects, preferably in a similar environment or infrastructure.
• Qualified personnel, including registered electricians with relevant certifications.
• Knowledge of electrical safety standards and regulations.
• Ability to produce detailed reports, test certificates, and compliance documentation.
• Capacity to execute the work within the specified timeframe and adhere to quality standards.
