Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a qualified service provider to carry out repairs and maintenance of windows and associated works at the APK, APB, DFC, and SWC campuses of the University of Johannesburg on an 'Ad-Hoc' basis over a period of three years. The aim is to ensure the proper upkeep, repair, and maintenance of campus windows, including associated works such as door and frame replacements, to maintain safety, functionality, and aesthetics.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Repairs and maintenance of windows across multiple campuses.
• Replacement of doors, frames, and related components.
• Glass supply and installation, including various types such as float glass, patterned glass, toughened safety glass, and laminated glass.
• Support and maintenance services, including call-out rates, hourly rates for technicians, glazing, and other associated works.
• Support for window glazing, including cleaning, sealing, and related services.
• Provision of support and maintenance services in accordance with specified service levels and standards.

The scope also covers compliance with technical specifications, safety standards, and environmental considerations, including hazardous materials handling and safety regulations.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements for the tender include:

• Provision of qualified and experienced personnel, including project managers, supervisors, technicians, carpenters, and general assistants, with appropriate certifications and experience.
• Adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and policies, including Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), environmental laws, and safety standards.
• Implementation of Best Industry Practices, including quality assurance, safety protocols, and environmental management.
• Provision of detailed work methodology, program of works, and service schedules.
• Supply of all necessary tools, equipment, and materials required for repairs and maintenance.
• Compliance with specified service levels, including turnaround times, response times, and quality standards.
• Provision of warranties and defect liability periods for supplied materials and workmanship.
• Adherence to safety, health, and environmental policies, including hazardous materials handling and risk management.
• Provision of detailed documentation, reports, and records related to work performed, safety, and compliance.
• Participation in audits, inspections, and compliance verification processes.

The contractor must demonstrate relevant experience, resources, and methodology to ensure effective and compliant delivery of services over the contract period.
