Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to carry out repairs to the ablution facilities at Grey's Hospital, including various public and staff toilets across multiple departments and units within the hospital. The work aims to restore and upgrade the facilities to meet quality standards, ensure functionality, and improve hygiene and usability for staff and patients.

Scope

The scope of work encompasses comprehensive repairs and refurbishments of the ablution facilities, including but not limited to:

• Replacing damaged wall-connected toilet pans with low-level floor-mounted P-trap units.
• Plastering and painting walls behind pans with specified colours.
• Replacing and installing concealed toilet flush masters with vandal-proof palm flush/press units.
• Fitting new toilet seats, wash basins, taps, and associated fixtures.
• Restoring shower areas, replacing shower roses and tap handles.
• Repairing or replacing damaged doors, door frames, and fittings such as indicator bolts.
• Replacing damaged or discoloured mirrors, basins, and tops.
• Reinstating and painting walls, replacing broken tiles, and ensuring all fixtures are functional and compliant with hospital standards.
• Fitting soap and paper towel dispensers, grab rails, and other accessories.

The repairs cover multiple designated areas including OPD toilets, emergency units, clinics, and staff toilets, among others.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements specify that:

• All repairs must conform to the attached specifications, including size, colour, and material standards.
• All fixtures and fittings must meet hospital and safety standards, including vandal-proof and high-volume usage specifications.
• Replacement parts such as toilet pans, wash basins, taps, and flush units must be of high quality, compatible with existing infrastructure, and suitable for hospital use.
• All work must be completed to a high standard, with proper plastering, painting, and finishing.
• All fixtures must be properly installed, tested, and approved by the Maintenance Department.
• All damaged or discoloured fixtures must be replaced, and surfaces prepared and painted as specified.
• Work must be reported and approved by the Maintenance Department before completion.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must possess:

• Valid CIDB registration (minimum Grade 1 GB) for construction works.
• A certified Artisan Plumber qualification or equivalent competency certificate.
• Proven experience in plumbing, tiling, and general maintenance repairs within institutional or hospital environments.
• Ability to interpret technical specifications and drawings.
• Capability to carry out plastering, painting, and fixture installation to high standards.
• Knowledge of hospital safety and hygiene standards.
• Compliance with all health and safety regulations, including proper reporting and documentation procedures.
