Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to carry out repairs and upgrades to the staff ablution facilities at Grey’s Hospital, including various public and staff toilets within the hospital premises. The work aims to improve sanitation facilities, ensure compliance with standards, and maintain the functionality of the ablution areas.

Scope

The scope of work encompasses:

• Repairs and refurbishment of OPD male and female toilets, casualty staff toilets, emergency staff toilets, G.I. Unit, Maxillo Facial, MAW, Orthopaedic Clinic, Pharmacy passage, and Revenue public toilets.
• Replacement of toilet pans, seats, wash basins, and associated fixtures such as flushmasters, basin mixers, and soap dispensers.
• Installation of granite tops, mirrors, doors, and service boxes with post form lids.
• Re-tiling, masonry works, wall repairs, and painting where necessary.
• Ensuring all work is carried out on-site with minimal disruption, adhering to safety and quality standards.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Use of durable, high-quality materials such as granite tops (35mm thickness), ceramic toilet pans, and A1 toilet seats.
• Replacement of all defective or outdated fixtures with new, compliant units.
• Proper installation of fixtures with attention to hygiene, safety, and functionality.
• Walls behind toilets to be closed and tiled, with damaged tiles repaired.
• All fixtures to be fitted with appropriate fittings such as flushmasters, basin mixers, and push-button flush units.
• Work to be performed by skilled and qualified personnel, with adherence to the department’s specifications and standards.
• Provision of a Certificate of Compliance upon completion, valid for one year.

Skills Requirements

The tenderer must demonstrate:

• Proven experience in plumbing, tiling, masonry, and general refurbishment works within institutional or hospital environments.
• Qualified artisans, plumbers, and technicians with relevant certifications and licenses.
• Ability to execute repairs with minimal disruption to hospital operations.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations applicable to construction and refurbishment in healthcare settings.
• Capacity to manage site supervision, quality control, and timely delivery of the project.
