Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to solicit qualified service providers to carry out repairs to water booster pumps at the Natalia Building, Department of Health, KwaZulu-Natal. The aim is to ensure the water booster systems are operational, reliable, and meet specified standards, thereby supporting the department's water supply infrastructure.

Scope

The scope of the tender includes:

• Attending a compulsory site briefing and inspection at Natalia Building.
• Removing faulty components such as valves, probes, and liquid level controls.
• Supply, delivery, and installation of new components including gate valves, probes, and pipes as specified.
• Ensuring all work complies with technical specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements.
• Providing necessary documentation, safety files, and compliance certificates.
• Guaranteeing the repair work and installed components for a minimum period of six months.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Adherence to the specifications outlined in the technical documentation, including the replacement of faulty parts with approved, high-quality components.
• Completion of work within one day from receipt of official order.
• Compliance with all safety, occupational health, and safety regulations as per the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Inspection and testing of repaired components before handover, with witness by departmental representatives.
• Provision of a detailed safety file and work program prior to commencement.
• Guarantee of all repairs and new components for at least six months from the date of acceptance.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• Proven experience in plumbing and mechanical repairs related to water booster systems.
• Proof of relevant trade qualifications, specifically:
• Plumbing Trade Test
• Mechanical Fitter Trade Test
• Capability to perform repairs efficiently within the stipulated timeframe.
• Compliance with CIDB grading requirements of ISO or above, with a contractor grading of 150 or higher.
• Ability to provide quality workmanship, adhere to safety standards, and supply certified documentation.
