Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint an approved service provider to operate and maintain the elevator services within uMgungundlovu District Municipality. The successful bidder will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, removal, and replacement of spare parts as per diagnosis, ensuring the elevators are functional and compliant throughout the contract period.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Operation and maintenance of elevators at the specified buildings (176 & 242 Building).
• Removal and replacement of spare parts based on diagnostic assessments.
• Provision of standard servicing, emergency call-outs, and labour for parts replacement.
• The contract duration is 12 months (1 year).
• Participation in a compulsory site briefing session prior to submission.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements for the tender include:

• Registration with the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) with a contractor grading of at least 1SI (Lifts, escalators, and travellators).
• Provision of operation and maintenance services for elevators at the specified sites.
• Diagnosis, removal, and replacement of faulty parts as needed.
• Adherence to the General Conditions of Contract (GCC) 2010 and any applicable special conditions.
• Availability for emergency call-outs and standard servicing during the contract period.

Skills Requirements

The skills and qualifications required from bidders include:

• Registered and qualified personnel with expertise in elevator operation and maintenance.
• Proof of CIDB registration with the appropriate grading.
• Knowledge of elevator diagnostics, repairs, and spare parts management.
• Ability to provide timely emergency response and routine servicing.
• Compliance with municipal and national safety and technical standards.
• Completion of all bid documentation, including declarations and certifications, signed and submitted in full.
