Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to solicit quotations for the alterations of CED Block-C at NICD Sandringham Campus, ensuring the modifications meet specified standards, safety, and operational requirements.

Scope

The scope encompasses a comprehensive range of works including:

• Structural repairs such as crack repairs, mortar joint repairs, and surface preparation.
• Painting and coating of walls, timber, joinery, and steel surfaces with specified materials and finishes.
• Installation of air-conditioners, electrical wiring, and plumbing systems including sinks, toilets, and associated fixtures.
• Tiling, suspended ceilings, and flooring works.
• Replacement and installation of doors, windows, and glazing with specified materials.
• Site preparation, safety measures, and coordination with hospital operations to ensure minimal disruption.
• Final inspections, testing, and certification as per contractual and safety standards.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include adherence to:

• ISO 9001 accredited materials and products.
• Compliance with SANS10142 installation rules and relevant standards.
• Use of SABS approved materials, fixtures, and fittings.
• Proper sealing, waterproofing, and finishing of all surfaces.
• Installation of specified air-conditioner brands (Samsung, LG, Carrier, etc.) with inverter technology.
• Electrical wiring with appropriate circuit breakers, isolators, and compliance with electrical standards.
• Plumbing installations with certified plumbers, including water supply, drainage, and fixtures.
• Site safety, signage, and adherence to Occupational Health and Safety Act requirements.
• Coordination with hospital operations, including after-hours work and minimal disruption.

Skills Requirements

The tender requires bidders to demonstrate:

• CIDB registration in grading designation 2GB or higher.
• Previous experience in similar renovation and alteration projects within healthcare or laboratory environments.
• Qualified and registered professionals including civil, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC specialists.
