Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure calibration services for various tools and equipment used by the City of uMhlathuze. The service provider is expected to perform on-site calibration of specified tools and produce SANAS-accredited calibration certificates, ensuring the tools meet required standards and are fit for purpose.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Calibration of a range of electrical and testing equipment, including insulation testers, multimeters, clamp meters, high voltage detectors, testers, analyzers, and other specialized instruments as detailed in the Bill of Quantities (BoQ).
• Performing calibration on-site at the City of uMhlathuze premises.
• Providing SANAS-accredited calibration certificates for all calibrated tools.
• Proof of previous calibration work within the last 24 months must be attached to the quotation.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Calibration of specified equipment as per the BoQ, including insulation testers, multimeters, high voltage testers, phase comparators, cable locators, pressure testers, analyzers, surge generators, thermal cameras, and other electrical testing instruments.
• Calibration must be performed on-site at the City of uMhlathuze premises.
• Provision of SANAS-accredited calibration certificates upon completion.
• All calibration activities must adhere to relevant standards and ensure tools are within acceptable calibration tolerances.

Skills Requirements

The service provider must possess:

• Qualified and experienced technicians with expertise in calibration of electrical and electronic testing equipment.
• Certification or accreditation from SANAS or equivalent recognized body for calibration services.
• Ability to perform on-site calibration efficiently and accurately.
• Proven track record of previous calibration work, with proof attached to the quotation.
• Knowledge of relevant standards and compliance requirements for calibration of electrical tools and equipment.
