Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure and execute the supply, installation, finishing, and commissioning of a Control Room Schematic Board for the City of uMhlathuze. The project aims to deliver a neat, professional, durable, and accurately aligned control room schematic board suitable for long-term use, ensuring a complete turnkey installation that includes all necessary materials, labour, and support structures.

Scope

The scope encompasses:

• Supply of all materials including front panels, plywood backboards, timber framing, fixings, and hardware.
• Construction and installation of timber support frames for the plywood backboards.
• Installation of front panels onto backboards with rear-entry screws, ensuring precise alignment and a seamless finish.
• Provision of all labour, supervision, specialised manpower, tools, PPE, consumables, transport, and site establishment.
• Final inspection, adjustments, cleaning, rehabilitation of the work area, and commissioning.
• Adherence to site-specific requirements and specifications confirmed during the site meeting.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications include:

• Installation of 12 front panels (8 in Section 1 and 4 in Section 2) with dimensions 2750 × 1220 × 6 mm, supported by plywood backboards measuring 2440 × 1220 × 9 mm.
• Panels must form a continuous, professional finish with tightly fitting joints, no visible gaps, and no concealment fillers.
• Fixing screws to be inserted from the rear, positioned along the top and bottom edges within 25 mm of the edge, avoiding internal areas less than 2700 mm from fixing zones.
• Panels should be easily dismantlable without damage, durable, and suitable for long-term control room use.
• All installation work must comply with relevant manuals and site requirements, ensuring neatness, durability, and long-term stability.

Skills Requirements

The contractor must possess:

• Proven experience in installing control room schematic boards or similar precision panel installations.
• Capability to supply and handle all required materials, including timber framing, panels, fixings, and hardware.
• Skilled personnel for construction, alignment, and finishing of panels to achieve a professional, seamless appearance.
• Supervisory and project management skills to coordinate site activities, inspections, and commissioning.
• Knowledge of safety standards, PPE requirements, and municipal procedures for site establishment and work execution.
