Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and deliver 200 units of pre-pay S PH split wireless keypads (meters) to the City of uMhlathuze. The procurement aims to ensure the provision of reliable, wireless, and tamper-protected meters that meet specified technical standards, supporting the city's water metering infrastructure.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Supply and delivery of 200 pre-pay S PH split wireless keypads/meters.
• Provision of meters with specific technical specifications (230V, 100A, Class 2 communication, wireless RF signal, tamper protection, and dimensions not exceeding 5x8x15cm).
• Delivery to the Supply Chain Management Unit at the specified address in Alton, Richards.
• Compliance with statutory and municipal registration requirements.

The technical specifications for the meters are as follows:

• Single phase prepayment split meter with wireless keypad communication (RF signal).
• Voltage: 230V
• Current: 100A
• Protection Class: Class 2
• Dimensions: Not to exceed 5cm (width) x 8cm (length) x 15cm (height)

• Features: Tamper protection
• Manufacturer's specifications or datasheet must be attached; failure to do so will result in disqualification.

Skills and Supplier Requirements

The supplier must meet the following requirements:

• Be registered with the Central Suppliers Database (CSD), with a valid CSD number.
• Provide a Letter of Good Standing.
• Be registered with the Municipal Council Database; forms available on the municipal website.
• Complete the RFQ in black ink; quotations in lead pencil will not be accepted.
• Sign all alterations and the quotation itself; unsigned alterations will lead to disqualification.
• Comply with statutory requirements, including VAT registration and applicable levies.
• Have the capacity to supply and deliver within the specified lead time.
• Possess technical expertise related to metering equipment and wireless communication technology.
