Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure HVAC repair services for the S1a HVAC plant at Victoria Mxenge Hospital, ensuring the plant is repaired, maintained, and operationally reliable. The aim is to facilitate effective HVAC system functioning, adhere to safety standards, and ensure quality repairs with guaranteed workmanship.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Repair and maintenance of the S1a HVAC plant, including condenser fan motors, refrigerant lines, compressors, and associated components.
• Replacement of noisy condenser fans, dryer and suction line components, and other defective parts.
• System flushing, evacuation, re-gassing with R410A, and installation of new control components such as temperature sensors and switches.
• Provision of guaranteed repairs for a period of 6 to 12 months, including all necessary materials, labor, and safety compliance.
• Attendance at site briefing, safety compliance, and submission of all required documentation and reports.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Compliance with safety standards, including submission of safety files, risk assessments, and safety plans.
• Use of CIDB registered contractors with proven experience in compressor and vacuum pump repairs.
• Adherence to specifications for repairs such as replacing noisy condenser fans, dryer and dryer lines, and ensuring system is triple evacuated and re-gassed with R410A.
• Provision of quality standards documentation, including CIDB registration, trade-tested mechanical fitter CVs, and proof of compressor and vacuum pump repair experience.
• Completion of detailed work plans, daily job sheets, and after-service reports.
• Guarantee of repairs for a minimum of 6 months, with all replaced items carrying a 12-month guarantee.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must possess:

• CIDB registration in relevant categories for HVAC and mechanical repairs.
• Trade-tested mechanical fitters with extensive experience in compressor and vacuum pump repairs, certified and certified original CVs.
• Proven capability in HVAC system diagnostics, repairs, and system re-gassing, with knowledge of SARACCA procedures.
• Ability to prepare and submit comprehensive safety files, risk assessments, and work plans.
• Experience in system flushing, evacuation, nitrogen purging, and refrigerant re-gassing with R410A.
• Competence in safety compliance, including site safety signage, cordoning, and health and safety induction.
• Ability to provide after-service support, detailed reports, and documentation as per specifications.
