Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to provide servicing of air conditioning units at Fredville Clinic, ensuring proper maintenance, functionality, and compliance with relevant standards and regulations.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Preventative maintenance, servicing, and repair of air conditioning units at Fredville Clinic.
• Inspection and testing of both mechanical/refrigerant and electrical components of the units.
• Cleaning and calibration of sensors, coils, filters, and other parts.
• Providing detailed inspection reports and quotations for additional repairs if needed.
• Ensuring all work is fully compliant with local authority regulations, departmental standards, and SABS specifications.
• All materials used must be SABS approved and approved by the maintenance supervisor prior to installation.
• Site visits are encouraged for full assessment prior to quoting.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• All work must be fully inclusive of VAT, labor, materials, and profit.
• Use of specified materials with SABS approval or equivalent B.S. or DIN mark.
• Inspection and testing of units, including refrigerant leak checks, insulation checks, and operation tests.
• Cleaning of coils, filters, and components, with detailed inspection reports.
• Provision of after-service inspection reports for each unit.
• Adherence to Occupational Health and Safety Act 85/1993.
• Lead time of 1 week from site handover for procurement of materials and spares.
• Submission of all required documentation, including CIDB registration, proof of good standing, and relevant technical certifications.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must possess:

• CIDB registration with a grading of at least 1 ME.
• Certified Refrigerants Technician qualification (Gas Practitioner SAQCC Gas).
• Proof of registration with the Department of Labour for Good Standing.
• Experience in servicing and maintaining air conditioning units, preferably with prior work at health facilities.
• Ability to provide detailed inspection reports and quotations for additional repairs.
• Knowledge of local authority regulations, SABS standards, and occupational health and safety requirements.
• Capability to supply and install approved materials and spares.
