Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure servicing of air conditioning units at Hlengisizwe CHC and Bhobhono Clinic, ensuring proper maintenance, functionality, and compliance with relevant standards. The project aims to maintain a safe, efficient, and hygienic environment within the healthcare facilities by ensuring all air conditioning systems are serviced and operational.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Servicing of air conditioners across various departments and rooms within Hlengisizwe CHC and Bhobhono Clinic.
• Inspection, cleaning, and testing of both mechanical/refrigerant and electrical components of the units.
• Providing detailed inspection reports and quotations for additional repairs if necessary.
• Compliance with local authority regulations, departmental standards, and national building regulations.
• Ensuring all work is performed in accordance with occupational health and safety standards.
• Submission of all required documentation, including CIDB registration, proof of qualifications, and relevant certifications.

Technical Requirements

• Servicing of split and window wall units, including checking operation, refrigerant leaks, insulation, and mounting bolts.
• Electrical component checks: compressor termination, capacitors, resistance heaters, de-icing stats.
• Cleaning of units: sensors, coils, filters, and condensate drains, with rust treatment and painting where necessary.
• Preparation of detailed inspection reports for each unit, including recommendations for repairs.
• Use of SABS approved materials and components bearing recognized standards (SABS, B.S., DIN).
• Adherence to specifications for all materials and work procedures.
• Provision of spare parts, service facilities, and guarantees as specified.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• Registration with CIDB (minimum Grade 1ME).
• Qualified technicians with certification as Refrigerants Technicians (“Gas Practitioner SAQCC Gas”).
• Experience in servicing and maintaining air conditioning units in healthcare or similar environments.
• Knowledge of local and national regulations related to HVAC systems and occupational health and safety.
• Ability to produce detailed inspection reports and quotations for additional repairs.
• Capability to supply and install approved materials and spare parts.
• Proven track record of delivering quality maintenance services within stipulated timeframes.
