Objectives

The tender aims to engage a supplier for the maintenance, repair, and installation of fire suppression and detection systems at two Rand Water facilities: Zuikerbosch and Eikenhof. Scope of Work

The scope is divided into two bid numbers corresponding to specific locations:

• Zuikerbosch (Bid 10416868): Includes supply and installation of new hardware, replacement of defective sprinkler heads, draining and refilling the sprinkler system, servicing gas cylinders, and performing quarterly maintenance for both fire suppression and fire detection systems over four quarters.
• Eikenhof (Bid 10415935): Covers repairs to fire suppression systems located in three engine rooms and the compilation of a site safety file.

Technical Requirements

Suppliers must deliver the following technical outputs:

• Supply and Installation: Provide and install 150 mm flow switches, test valves, gauge cocks, water motor alarm gongs, and 150 mm gate valves.
• Replacements: Replace painted sprinkler heads, incorrect sprinkler heads, and damaged sprinkler heads.
• System Maintenance: Execute drain and refill procedures for the sprinkler system. Service gas cylinders associated with the fire suppression systems.
• Quarterly Services: Conduct recurring fire suppression services (quantities approximately 23 units per quarter) and fire detection services (quantities approximately 10 units per quarter) across all four quarters.
• Repairs: Diagnose and repair faults within the fire suppression systems at Eikenhof Engine Rooms 1, 2, and 3.
• Documentation: Compile and submit a Safety File for both Zuikerbosch and Eikenhof, detailing system status and maintenance history.
