Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure services for the servicing of a generator and the purification of the diesel tank at Imbalenhle Community Health Centre (CHC). The aim is to ensure the proper maintenance and operational efficiency of critical backup power systems and fuel storage facilities, thereby supporting continuous healthcare service delivery.

Scope

The scope of the tender includes:

• Performing preventative maintenance on the generator as per attached specifications and checklist.
• Servicing and ensuring the generator operates in optimal condition, including checks on engine, coolant, oil, battery, and exhaust systems.
• Purification and maintenance of the diesel tank, including cleaning, inspection, and ensuring fuel quality.
• Providing all necessary labor, tools, and materials to complete the servicing and purification tasks.
• Optional: Conducting load bank testing and other related maintenance activities as specified.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements specify that:

• The servicing must comply with the attached checklist and specifications, including checks on engine coolant, oil, battery, belts, exhaust, air filters, and lubrication system.
• The diesel tank must be cleaned and purified to meet quality standards, with documentation of the process.
• The service provider must hold valid trade certificates (e.g., Diesel Mechanic Trade Test Certificate) and relevant CIDB grading (if applicable).
• The service must be performed once-off, with adherence to the specified standards (SANS).
• All work must be completed within the contractual period, with proper documentation and compliance with safety and quality standards.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must possess:

• Qualified diesel mechanics with valid trade certificates.
• Experience in generator maintenance, servicing, and fuel tank cleaning.
• Knowledge of relevant standards such as SANS.
• Ability to provide technical support, documentation, and load testing if required.
• Familiarity with health facility maintenance and safety protocols.
