Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure the supply and delivery of batteries that come with a 24-month warranty, to be provided as and when required by Knysna Municipality. The aim is to ensure the municipality has reliable battery supplies for its operational needs, with quality assurance through the warranty period.

Scope

The scope of the tender includes:

• Provision of a variety of batteries as listed in the pricing summary, including specific models such as F616C, F619C, YTX7A, BTZ8V, KT9B-4, among others.
• Delivery of batteries to designated municipal sites upon request.
• Supply of batteries with a warranty period of 24 months from the date of delivery.
• Compliance with municipal procurement policies and technical specifications outlined in the tender documents.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements for the tender include:

• Supply of new, unused batteries of the specified models, incorporating recent design and material improvements.
• Provision of proof of registration with RMI and MIBCO, along with relevant company experience and references.
• Pricing must be itemized and inclusive of VAT where applicable, with prices valid for 90 days.
• Delivery in accordance with the contractual conditions, ensuring packaging suitable for transport and storage.
• Warranty coverage of 24 months, with the supplier responsible for repairs or replacements of defective goods within this period.
• Compliance with all applicable procurement regulations, including BBBEE levels, tax clearance, and municipal account status.
• Submission of all required documentation, including tax clearance certificates, declaration forms, and supply chain management declarations.
• Adherence to the preference points system (80/20) and local content requirements, where applicable.
