Objectives

The primary objective is to procure and deliver a comprehensive range of electrical materials, components, and diagnostic tools to Montebello Hospital. The procurement supports routine maintenance, repairs, and replacement activities to ensure uninterrupted clinical and operational services within the healthcare facility.

Scope

The contract covers a one-time supply and delivery of numerous electrical items, including:

• Wiring and cabling (house wire, extension rolls)
• Circuit protection and control devices (breakers, contactors, relays, earth leakage units, fuses)
• Lighting systems (LED tubes, fluorescent tubes, downlights, light fittings, insect killers)
• Accessories and hardware (extension boxes, switches, sockets, wall plugs, cable ties, saddles, connector blocks)
• Testing and maintenance equipment (multimeters, polarity testers, tong testers, insulated tool sets, aerosol cleaners, silicone sprays)
• Appliance components (geyser elements, thermostats, coldroom motors, liquid level controls)

The scope is strictly limited to supply and delivery to the hospital premises. Installation, commissioning, training, or ongoing maintenance services are excluded.

Technical Requirements

• All goods must comply with South African National Standards (SANS) and South African Bureau of Standards (SABS) specifications.
• Products must be brand new, unused, and free from defects in design, material, or workmanship.
• Supplied items must have a minimum operational or shelf-life validity of six months from the date of delivery.
• Bidders must confirm technical compliance for each line item and indicate whether articles meet SANS/SABS standards.
• Physical samples may be requested post-award for verification against set specifications; failure to provide samples when requested results in rejection.
• All delivery costs, packaging, and transit risks remain with the supplier until official receipt is documented at the hospital.

Skills Requirements

No formal trade certifications or installation qualifications are required. However, bidders must demonstrate proven supply chain and logistical competence through:

• Documentary proof of at least one previous successful delivery of similar electrical goods to a public or private healthcare facility.
• Ability to source, verify, and deliver SANS-approved electrical products consistently.
• Capacity to manage regulatory documentation, including Central Suppliers Database (CSD) verification, tax compliance, and B-BBEE proof.
