Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure and supply Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to Knysna Municipality. The supply includes various PPE items such as jackets, trousers, work shirts, T-shirts, rain jackets, and boots, all compliant with specified technical standards and branding requirements. The goal is to ensure the municipality's staff are equipped with high-quality, durable, and compliant PPE for operational safety and health standards over a 12-month period.

Scope

The scope of this tender encompasses:

• Supply and delivery of specified PPE items, including embroidered clothing with the Knysna Municipality logo.
• Provision of PPE in various sizes and colors, as per communicated requirements.
• Delivery to the Knysna Municipality Main Mechanical Workshop, Fechter Street, Industrial Area, Knysna.
• Adherence to technical specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
• Provision of product brochures and company experience evidence.
• Order validity for 12 months with a maximum expenditure cap of R300,000.
• Turnaround time for delivery not exceeding 15 calendar days from official order.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications for PPE items include:

Jacket (Granada HI-VISHI-VIS jacket)

• Breathable TPU water-resistant membrane
• Reflective stripes across shoulders, sleeves, and hips
• Zip fastening with chest and side pockets
• Velcro sleeve closures and drawstring bottom

Trousers (Raven Black)

• High protection material (oil, water, acid resistant)
• Side pockets, back pocket, at least seven belt loops
• 50mm reflective tape around legs
• Flame retardant

Work Shirt

• Long and short sleeve options, black color
• High protection, flame retardant, oil, water, acid resistant
• Two button flap chest pockets

T-Shirt

• Long and short sleeve options, black color
• Lightweight, breathable, durable, high tear resistance
• 50mm reflective tape around arms and waist

Rain Jacket

• Thermal protective, water-resistant, long waist design

Boots

• Removable Memory Foam insoles for comfort
• Wide profile steel toe-cap (200 joules protection)
• Resistant to 200°C, oil, water, alkali, acid
• Slip-resistant, crack-resistant outsole (SRC compliant)
• Genuine soft leather, steel midsole, energy absorption heel
• Conforms to EN ISO 20345:2011, SANS 20345:2014 standards

Additional Technical Requirements

• Items must be embroidered with the Knysna Municipality logo where specified.
• Pricing must remain firm and valid for 12 months or until the total reaches R300,000.
• Suppliers must provide product brochures and demonstrate relevant experience.
• Turnaround time for delivery is a maximum of 15 calendar days from order.
• All PPE must meet specified safety, durability, and quality standards, including flame retardancy and resistance properties.
