Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure a supplier capable of providing and delivering painters' materials to Port Shepstone Hospital, ensuring quality, compliance with specifications, and timely delivery to meet the hospital's maintenance needs.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply and delivery of various painters' materials, including primers, varnishes, sealers, and related products, as specified in the technical data sheets. The procurement is a once-off requirement, with the products to be delivered to Port Shepstone Hospital's Maintenance Department, adhering to the specified standards and specifications.

Technical Requirements

• Supply and delivery of specified painters' materials such as undercoat, varnish, etch primer, sanding sealer, and other related products, with specified brands (e.g., Placon).
• Products must conform to the relevant specifications (e.g., Port Shepstone Specification No.: Fitters’ Material).
• Products should have a shelf life of at least 12 months.
• Samples must be made available for trial within 5 days of request.
• Complete delivery in a single shipment; no partial deliveries accepted.
• All products must be certified by relevant standards (SABS/SANS) and include proof of certification with the quotation.
• Pricing must include VAT where applicable, and the total cost should be clearly indicated.
• Delivery to be made during office hours (07:30 to 15:00), no weekend or public holiday deliveries.

Skills and Competency Requirements

• Proven capacity to supply and deliver specified materials within the stipulated timeframe, supported by previous orders and delivery notes.
• Compliance with technical specifications and standards, demonstrated through submission of relevant certification documents.
• Ability to provide samples for testing upon request within 5 days.
• Knowledge of procurement procedures, including submission of accurate and complete documentation, adherence to delivery schedules, and compliance with the Department of Health’s procurement policies.
• Understanding of health and safety standards related to the handling and transportation of painting materials.
