To procure and deliver essential plumbing, electrical, and maintenance supplies to support the operational and infrastructural needs of Imbalenhle Community Health Centre under the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health.
This is a one-off supply and delivery contract covering a range of plumbing fixtures, electrical components, hardware, and grounds maintenance products. Successful bidders must deliver all ordered items to the designated health centre within 7–14 days of receiving an official order. The contract strictly prohibits partial deliveries and part payments. All supplied goods must be new, unused, and remain valid for a minimum of six months upon delivery. Packaging must protect items against transit damage, extreme weather, and rough handling.
All items must comply with relevant SANS/SABS quality standards and match the detailed specifications outlined in the tender annexures. Key technical specifications include:
Bidders must confirm compliance with each specification. Incidental services such as on-site assembly, commissioning, provision of operation manuals, or basic training may be required under the General Conditions of Contract.
No specialized trade or installation qualifications are mandated, as this is a supply-only quotation. However, bidders must demonstrate:
80/20 Preference Point System: Evaluation allocates up to 80 points for competitive pricing and 20 points exclusively for promoting South African-owned enterprises. Proof of ownership and director IDs must be submitted to claim these points.
Prime Interest Rate Penalty: Delayed delivery incurs daily financial deductions calculated using the prevailing prime interest rate until goods are received, unless an extension is formally granted.
Cover-Quoting Prohibition: Submitting multiple quotes through related or affiliated companies constitutes fraud and results in immediate disqualification.
Performance Security & Termination: The purchaser may require a bank guarantee or certified cheque within 30 days of award. Contracts may be terminated for default, insolvency, or corrupt practices, with potential restrictions on future public sector participation for up to 10 years.

Most large tenders are composed of tasks in a number of different fields, and it is not always possible for a single company to cater for all of them, and therefore Joint Ventures and Consortia are formed to then submit a tender together.
Government tenders are also requiring the subcontracting of a percentage of the tender work, and the trouble is then finding Subcontractors to comply with the tender requirements
To assist companies with finding tender partners and subcontractors, you can now submit your contact details and company information on this page, so other interested parties can contact you for purposes of forming Joint Ventures and subcontracting
