Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and deliver consumables as specified in the project description, ensuring timely procurement of quality goods to meet the needs of the Knysna Municipality.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply and delivery of various consumables including trimmer line, cutter bar oil, two-stroke oil, gearbox grease, spark plugs, bearings, blades, bolts, and nuts. The procurement is limited to items listed in the pricing summary, with a total RFQ amount not exceeding R300,000.00.

The tender covers the entire process from quotation submission, evaluation based on price and specific goals, to delivery and compliance with contractual obligations.

Technical Requirements

• Items must conform to specifications detailed in the pricing summary.
• Goods must be new, unused, and of the latest models with all recent design improvements.
• Suppliers must provide goods that are free from defects in design, materials, or workmanship.
• Delivery must be in accordance with the specified contractual conditions, including packaging, transportation, and insurance.
• Suppliers are responsible for testing, inspection, and analysis to ensure compliance before acceptance.
• Spare parts, if applicable, must be supplied or notified in advance of termination of production.
• Warranty period of 12 months from delivery or 18 months from shipment, whichever is earlier.

Skills and Competency Requirements

• Registered on the Municipality’s Accredited Supplier Database and CSD.
• Ability to provide certified copies of tax compliance status, B-BBEE status level, and CIDB registration if applicable.
• Demonstrated capacity to deliver goods within the stipulated timeframe and adhere to technical specifications.
• Experience in handling procurement processes compliant with the Municipal Supply Chain Management Regulations.
• Ability to provide technical support, on-site assembly, commissioning, and training if required.
• Compliance with all legal, tax, and municipal obligations, including municipal rates and taxes clearance.
• Understanding of the Preferential Procurement Policy Framework Act and ability to claim points for specific goals.
