Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure the supply and delivery of safety boots that meet specified safety standards and specifications, ensuring safety and compliance for Ugu District Municipality’s personnel.

Scope

The scope includes the provision of safety boots in various sizes (Size 4, 6, 8, 10, 12) as per the detailed specifications provided in the tender documents. The successful bidder will supply the boots, deliver samples to the designated stores before the closing date, and ensure delivery of the ordered quantities to the specified location (Park Rynie Stores, Preston Road, Marburg Stores).

Technical Requirements

The safety boots must adhere to the following technical specifications:

• Full grain waxy leather complying with EN/ISO 20345 standards.
• Leather tongue with soft Nappa leather lining.
• 5 pairs hooks and ski hooks with corrosion-resistant gunmetal coating.
• Manufactured at an accredited factory, PASA approved.
• Vibram or equivalent sole with non-woven ferrabelle material for additional strength.
• EVA top and Poron/EVA sock or equivalent.
• Vibram rubber sole with SRC slip resistance rating.
• Shank reinforcement for additional arch support.
• Capable of withstanding temperatures up to 300°C.
• Anti-penetration midsole with steel toe cap (extra-wide fitting).
• Color: Black.

Skills Requirements

Applicants should possess:

• Experience in manufacturing or supplying safety footwear that complies with relevant safety standards.
• Ability to produce samples that meet the detailed technical specifications.
• Capacity to deliver the specified quantities within the stipulated timeframe.
• Knowledge of procurement procedures and compliance with municipal and national regulations.
• Proficiency in documentation, including certified proof of compliance and relevant certifications.
