Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and install electric cable from the meter to the building at Mfundo Arnold Lushaba Community Health Centre, ensuring proper electrical connection and compliance with relevant standards and safety regulations.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Supply of all necessary materials, including electrical cables, glands, and accessories.
• Installation of electrical cables from the meter to the interior of the building.
• Connection, testing, and commissioning of the electrical system.
• Adherence to approved drawings, specifications, and safety standards.
• Site clearance, ensuring a clean and safe working environment throughout the project duration.
• Completion within a contract period of two weeks from receipt of official order.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Supply and installation of armoured PVC SWA cables with copper conductors (e.g., 4x16mm², 1000V).
• Use of SABS approved materials and components.
• Compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act 85/1993 and relevant Department of Health standards.
• Proper cable termination, gland making, and connection to the existing electrical system.
• Installation of underground cables with appropriate trenching, marking, and protection measures.
• Inspection, testing, and certification of the electrical installation, including issuance of a Certificate of Compliance (CoC).
• Adherence to relevant standards such as SANS 0142 and IEC 60947.

Skills Requirements

The tenderer must possess:

• Qualified and licensed electricians with appropriate wiremen’s qualifications.
• Experience in electrical cable installation, including underground and building interior wiring.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to electrical works.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
• Capability to perform testing, inspection, and certification of electrical installations.
• Compliance with Occupational Health and Safety standards, including safety planning and hazard management.
