Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure service providers for the supply and installation of galvanized U bents and metal vents for staff entrance toilets, ducting for Wahooz toilets, and repairs to Wahooz kitchen ducting at uShaka Marine World. The aim is to ensure proper ventilation, ducting integrity, and compliance with safety standards across specified areas.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Supply and Install galvanized U bents and metal vents: Isolate power, remove old equipment, install new U bents and vents, replace rusted brackets, and restore power ensuring equipment functions correctly.
• Supply and Install ducting for Wahooz toilets: Uninstall rusted ducting, install brackets, connect fans, install attenuators, and ensure proper airflow and matching paintwork.
• Repairs to Wahooz kitchen ducting: Isolate power, inspect ducting, repair airflow issues, replace ceiling boards, and reconnect power, ensuring optimal ducting performance.

All work must adhere to health and safety standards, with contractors responsible for verifying measurements, supplying all materials, and completing the work within specified timelines.

Technical Requirements

• Compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OSH Act) and relevant standards such as SANS 10400.
• Proper isolation and re-commissioning of electrical systems, with Certificates of Compliance (CoC) for electrical work.
• Use of appropriate PPE and adherence to site-specific health and safety protocols.
• Provision of a project plan with milestones and adherence to deadlines.
• Materials used must meet quality standards, with certificates of conformity provided upon completion.
• All measurements and equipment sizes are to be verified by the contractor prior to installation.

Skills Requirements

• Proven experience in ducting, ventilation systems, and related installation works.
• Technical expertise in electrical isolation, wiring, and installation of fans, attenuators, and ducting components.
• Ability to assess existing ducting and ventilation systems for repairs and refurbishments.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and proper site management practices.
• Capability to prepare detailed project plans, including timelines and milestones.
• Competence in verifying measurements, sourcing quality materials, and providing certificates of conformity.
