Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply, install, and commission industrial laundry equipment, specifically a 25kg industrial tumble dryer and a 30kg industrial washing machine, at Northdale Hospital. The project aims to ensure the provision of reliable, efficient laundry machinery with proper installation, testing, and staff training, supported by warranties and compliance with technical standards.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Supply and delivery of a 25kg industrial tumble dryer and a 30kg industrial washing machine.
• Installation and commissioning of the equipment at Northdale Hospital.
• Provision of plumbing connections, including drainage for the washing machine.
• Testing of installed equipment in the presence of hospital personnel.
• Training staff on machine operation.
• Guarantee of a minimum 12-month warranty on all equipment and workmanship.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications mandate:

• Supply of new, unused equipment of the latest models, compliant with SABS or SANS standards.
• Installation in accordance with the Department of Health Standard Specification for laundry equipment.
• Proper plumbing and drainage connections for the washing machine.
• Guarantee against defects for at least 12 months from date of acceptance.
• Testing of the installation upon completion.
• Adherence to Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993 and related regulations.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• Competence in installing commercial laundry equipment, with qualified and skilled technicians.
• Experience in plumbing and electrical connections for laundry machinery.
• Knowledge of relevant health and safety standards and regulations.
• Ability to provide staff training on machine operation and maintenance.
• Capability to perform testing, commissioning, and warranty repairs as required.
