Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and install a tumble dryer machine with a capacity of 32kg to 35kg at Osindweni Hospital, including removal of the existing machine and provision of a comprehensive service agreement. The project aims to ensure efficient drying of laundry, improve laundry operations, and establish a maintenance framework for the equipment's lifecycle.

Scope

The scope encompasses:

• Provision of a complete tumble dryer package, including supply, installation, and commissioning.
• Removal of the existing tumble dryer machine.
• Delivery to Osindweni Hospital, KwaZulu-Natal.
• Adherence to technical specifications outlined in the tender, including capacity, construction, safety, and operational features.
• Provision of a comprehensive 5-year service and maintenance contract post-installation.

Technical Requirements

• The tumble dryer shall be a free-standing type with electric heated air circulation, with a minimum power of 30 kW for heating elements and a 0.562 kW motor-driven drum.
• The outer and inner drums must be constructed of mild steel, galvanized or zinc-coated, with outward embossed perforations and no sharp edges.
• The machine must have a capacity of 32kg to 35kg, with a minimum cylinder size of 937 x 914 mm, capable of handling up to two laundry changes per hour at approximately 60% moisture content.
• Features include a front-loading large circular door (minimum 500 mm diameter), high-pressure centrifugal fan, accessible air intake filter, lint trap, and electrical interlocks for safety.
• The electrical system should operate on 380V, 3-phase, 50Hz, conforming to SABS standards, with an isolator and microprocessor controls for cycle, temperature, and timing.
• The machine shall include provisions for easy maintenance, such as accessible filters, filters, and lubricators, and dimensions approximately 985mm x 1346mm x 1946mm.
• Compliance with relevant safety standards and specifications is mandatory.

Skills Requirements

• Technical expertise in the installation and commissioning of industrial laundry equipment.
• Knowledge of electrical systems, including three-phase power supply and safety standards.
• Capability to remove existing machinery and install new units in a hospital laundry environment.
• Experience in providing comprehensive maintenance and service contracts for laundry machinery.
• Ability to adhere to specifications, safety protocols, and quality standards as outlined in the tender documentation.
