Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure service providers for the supply and installation of four aluminum shutter gates at the Ticketing Department and roller gates for the Dolphin Stadium at uShaka Marine World. The project aims to replace the deteriorated and damaged existing shutter gates with customized aluminum gates that match the current design and color, ensuring durability against weathering, saltwater, acids, and other hostile environments.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Supply and installation of four aluminum shutter gates at the Ticketing Department entrance.
• Supply and installation of roller gate shaft, springs, gearbox, down rod, and industrial bearings for the Dolphin Stadium.
• Provision of materials such as stainless steel hinges, locking mechanisms, and other fixtures suitable for harsh environments.
• Replacement of existing un-repairable roller shutter components with new shafts, springs, bearings, and gearbox.
• Work to be completed within one month from the receipt of the purchase order.
• Work to be carried out during specified hours (Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 16:00), with no weekend work allowed.
• Ensure minimal disruption to the operational status of the areas involved, including working around guest activities such as dolphin shows.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications and requirements include:

• Customized aluminum shutter gates that replicate existing design and colors, approved by uShaka Marine World management prior to installation.
• Material specifications and bill of materials to be submitted for approval.
• Use of durable, weather-resistant materials, including stainless steel hinges, locks, and heavy-duty gearboxes.
• Replacement of the Dolphin Stadium roller shutter shaft, springs, bearings, and gearbox with new industrial-grade components suitable for corrosive environments.
• All fixtures and fittings must be of industrial grade, capable of withstanding harsh environmental conditions.
• Work methodology includes non-operational area work during specified hours, with nuts issued upon completion.
• Provision of a 1-year workmanship warranty on all work carried out.
• Adherence to safety regulations, including OSHA standards, and safe scaffolding practices, especially when working near animal enclosures.
• All work must be completed within the stipulated timeframe, with proper documentation and approvals.
